about
SUNDAYS new single ’Turn’ shows a band who is showing off their
muscles while maintaining their sense of rousing melodies.
In Denmark the previous single ’Passengers Choir’ has received airplay on the national radio DR P4 and, together with the new single ’Turn’ they will draw the lines for their upcoming debut album, set for release in January 2019.
About the choice of ’Turn’ as the next single, Magnus Jacobsen says: ”I think it’s important not to dwell too much about your sound, even though everyone in the business tells us that you should remain true to your style and sound. There is just something in me that wants to show what else we can do with SUNDAYS. With ’Turn’ I think we have accomplished some of that. I feel we are stepping out of the cozy incandescent lamps and into the bright lights.” Magnus elaborates: ”Of course it’s not a matter of getting wilder with each release. On the contrary, one can expect that we will continue to challenge ourselves and the limits of our universe and
continue to broaden our sound and widen the limits, without ever letting go of who we are.
lyrics
In the middle of a million suns,
I got this feeling you could be the one
But every time I try to be your man,
You're burning up inside my hand
You always told me life is bittersweet,
I wanna show you all the bits I need
There's no tomorrow when the taste is wrong,
You shouldn't follow when I'm gone, gone, gone
I thought there's a way
I thought there's a way to turn it off
I thought there's a way,
There's a way to stop my hunger
I peel these feathers off these broken wings,
We said forever and the pain it brings
But there's a punch in every time you say;
It's taking longer than it takes
I turn around and face the man I am,
He's trying everything to reach my hand
But there's a calling from the day above,
The sky is ready as I take, take, take
As I take, take, take off
I thought there's a way
I thought there's a way to turn it off
I thought there's a way,
There's a way to stop my hunger
So close I can taste it
So close, I don't wanna waste it
So close, I'll never change it
Well I know that I ain't going home
I thought there's a way
I thought there's a way to turn it off
I thought there's a way,
There's a way to stop my hunger
